Their work involves critical conservation and humanitarian projects in over 30 countries and they rely upon volunteers to help promote sustainable development through environment research, conservation and education. With unparalleled in-country support, GVI volunteers benefit from exceptional training and a careers abroad job placement scheme.

Operating in over 30 countries including: Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Belize, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil,  Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Borneo, Vanuatu, South Africa, Kenya, Namibia, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Madagascar, USA.

Expeditions range from 5, 10, and 15 weeks and involve intensive training and communal living amongst an expedition team. ALL ten week expedition members are eligible for an internship to stay on for a further research phase free of charge.

There are ten expeditions worldwide including: Marine research in Mexico or the Seychelles – conducting coral reef transects using Scuba – for qualified and non-qualified divers, extra qualifications available.

Wildlife conservation in the Amazonian or Costa Rican rainforests – Costa Rica involves turtle and jaguar surveys, Amazon (Ecuador) is mainly amphibian. Amazing adventure side-trips. Research and exploration in the wilds of Patagonia for 6 or 12 weeks – includes Condor surveys and extreme weather training. Predator research, animal tracking and marine mammal studies in Kenya or South Africa – crucial conservation work tracking big game in South Africa and also with dolphins and primates in Kenya.

Gain a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) qualification and teach in Mexico’s stunning Yucatan peninsula, or in the kingdom of Thailand. Amazing work placement opportunities and in Thailand the opportunity to be a part of an advance expedition.

Support and backup includes airport pickup, drop off and in-country orientation, field packs, training manuals, kit lists. Over 100 staff including overseas in-country coordinators. 24 hour manned phone line. Discounts on flights, insurance, guidebooks, and clothing. Prices are all available on the GVI website and vary according to duration and destination. Food and accommodation and substantial donation to project included. Flights excluded.
